The goal of the NYCCT Leadership in TYA Fellowship is to offer individuals of diverse backgrounds that are underrepresented in the Theater for Young Audiences industry the opportunity to work alongside our leadership staff and grow their skills, insights, and knowledge of the TYA field to prepare them for leadership roles in the future. The Fellowship offers an opportunity for early to mid-career professionals who are building towards a leadership position to gain executive-level mentorship and experience at a thriving TYA company. Through continued support of this fellowship, NYCCT aims to develop a more diverse population of leaders in the field of TYA.
Leadership fellows will be invited to participate in a range of executive-level activities based upon their availability and aligned with their interests. They will work in conjunction with the Executive Director and staff on a project that that relates to the field, and will attend monthly mentorship meetings with the Executive Director. Fellows will have the agency to set their own schedule. Fellows are asked to join the regular staff review of current NYCCT work and future plans and offer honest, critical responses to the same.
