What Audiences are Saying about FIVE

Each Student Showed Their Enthusiasm!

The use of video, music and puppets all collectively effectively engaged our students. Each student showed their enthusiasm as Piper was introduced and brought out throughout the performance. The words to the songs were relevant and easy enough for kindergarten students to follow. The melody was light, cheerful and fun for students. The video helped piece the whole presentation together. Embedding Piper into the scenes of the five boroughs and the different experiences Piper had with his five senses helped students with both engagement and understanding of the concepts.

Students were able to actively engage their senses through the act of touching sand and feeling the spritz of water and wind from a mini fan, smelling sachets of different scents, actively participating in creating different sounds (honk of the ferry, sound of a sea gull, sound of waves crashing), etc. These not only helped students participate in the performance but it also focused students on the individual sense being highlighted. The felt board with the “Sense Badges” Piper earned also reinforced each sense.”

FIVE is a Stage Delight!

New York City Children’s Theater and our new touring show, FIVE, are included on NY Family’s 2016-2017 Ultimate Guide to Theater and Live Performance as a stage delight! We’re so grateful to be on the list and in such great company!

It was a Great Performance!

My students were very engaged throughout the show! The music/dancing kept their interest and they copied a lot of the movements. The video helped to provide knowledge about the five boroughs and five senses, which also helped them become interested about the topic. Lastly, they were excited to be chosen as volunteers and the sensory objects definitely kept them engaged. It was a great performance!

Thank You For Providing An Enriching Experience

We were so lucky to have been able to participate in the FIVE show before the COVID shutdown, and now we are able to continue to participate virtually/remotely with the other shows you have been presenting. Thank your allowing us to provide these enriching experiences/activities to our students especially during this difficult time.

The Video, Music and Puppets Got the Students’ Attention

The video, music and puppets got the students’ attention and engaged them because many of them are visual learners, and it also made it easier for them to understand the content. All these elements helped students remain focused and actively participate!
