Nurture Empathetic, Creative, and Independent Thinkers of the Future
Changing Kids Lives Through Theater
Every time we enter a theater, classroom, shelter, or community center we meet creative, inquisitive young people eager to engage with our empathy and literacy-building programs. NYCCT is awed by the potential of NYC’s children who inspire us to celebrate NYC’s diverse communities and model strong values.
With your help, we can nurture even more young people to be empathetic, creative, and independent thinkers who make a positive impact on their world.
$100
Creative Thinkers
Your gift of $100 covers the cost of tickets to an NYCCT production for two financially disadvantaged NYC families, including those living in one of our partner shelters, through Our Pay What You Choose and complimentary ticket initiatives. Because every family deserves access to high-quality theater.

Responsible Decision-Makers
Your gift of $250 funds an empathy-building anti-bullying workshop for 60 NYC school children. Our workshops offer students the opportunity to practice setting healthy boundaries, asking for help, and negotiating tricky social situations in a fun interactive scenario. Because, like every other skill, decision-making gets better with practice.

Literacy Masters
Your gift of $500 brings a trauma-informed literacy- and resilience-building session to children in the NYC Shelter System. Even a few weeks of housing insecurity can lead to huge losses in literacy, confidence, and social connections. Our weekly shelter program offers vulnerable children the tools to build and maintain creative, academic, and emotional management skills. Because where you live shouldn’t determine who you get to be.

Emotionally Intelligent Thinkers
Your gift of $1,000 funds a field trip for 100 Title I school children to see an NYCCT production. For many students, this is their first experience of the story-telling power of theater. Your gift can introduce a new generation to the empathetic possibilities of a story. Because every child deserved to be engaged by a well-told story.

Community Builders
Your gift of $2,500 underwrites a segment of Start the Conversation, which provides resources for children and their care-givers to start meaningful conversations about issues that concern today’s young people. Because to raise a community of thoughtful children, we need a community of thoughtful grownups.
