Families should see NYCCT’s Storyland Cabaret because it is a reminder to celebrate stories! During this time, we all need a little magic and adventure and caring in our lives and NYCCT’s Storyland Cabaret celebrates all the wonderfully fun themes that go into making a good story.

Tell us a little bit about where you’re from!

I grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania! I then spent 4 years in Evanston, Illinois while I attended college and then a year in Chicago after college. I’m now happy to call New York City my home!

What is your favorite song from NYCCT’s Storyland Cabaret and why?

I absolutely love Interstellar Cinderella. I love how it takes a classic story like Cinderella and turns it on its head to show girls that they can be more than just princesses; they can also be builders, inventors, and history makers.

What was your favorite story growing up and why?

My favorite was The Wide Mouthed Frog because my mom would always make the funniest voices and sounds while reading it to us. My brothers and I used to beg her to read it to us every night.

What advice would you give kids who want to be an actor too?

Keep trying and trying and trying! Never give up and never forget the importance of practicing and working hard. You got this!!

Families should see NYCCT’s Storyland Cabaret because it will be a fun blast from the past of all your favorite stories as presented by an amazingly talented troupe of actors ;)

Tell us a little bit about where you’re from!

Originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania–right in the heart of Amish country! It’s has a beautiful landscape with mountains and rivers and lots of places to go hiking and biking!

What is your favorite song from NYCCT’s Storyland Cabaret and why?

“Nobody Cares” because it rocks, and it reminds us of all the things in the world to care about that maybe we’ve forgotten.

What was your favorite story growing up and why?

My favorite book was “I Love You Forever” because my mom used to read it to me when I was little and it always made me feel so warm inside.

What advice would you give kids who want to be an actor too?

If you want to be an actor, start acting! Not like, “acting up” in class or anything haha, but find any opportunity you can to give performing a try! Your school probably has a talent show or maybe a theatre club that puts on shows. Take a chance and join in! Also, there are lots of local companies who might be looking for kids just like you, so it helps to be on the lookout for notices online. And if you’re still not satisfied, try writing your own story or play and perform it with your friends! It takes a lot of dedication and hard work to be an actor, but you can do it!
