We asked the cast:
What’s your favorite borough in NYC?
I love Manhattan, because even though it is such a small borough each neighborhood from east village to Harlem, to Washington Heights has its own history and culture which makes this city so exciting.
I love every borough, but my most favorite is probably Manhattan! Not having grown up here I always knew about Central Park from movies and since that is also the finish line mark it feels right to say that Manhattan is the borough where you feel on top of the world. I could only imagine the feeling of conquering 26.2 miles! And that happens right in Manhattan.
THE BRONX!! It’s my home borough, I love the Yankees, and the Bronx Zoo! Fun fact: did you know that the Bronx is home to the most green spaces out of all of the boroughs? There is so much magic in the Bronx. I could go on for days.
I love Manhattan, maybe it’s just because I live there. I love taking my Pitbull Lucca on walks along the Hudson River.
¡Corre, Abuelita, Run!
It’s the first Sunday in November, and Emily’s Abuelita is running in the NYC marathon! Emily made a sign that reads “¡Corre, Abuelita, Run!” that she wants to hold up as Abuelita runs through the finish line – but she needs your help to travel through the five boroughs and get to Central Park in time to celebrate!
Conceived, written, and directed by Sammy Lopez, ¡Corre, Abuelita, Run! is an interactive bilingual, Spanish and English, performance that uses language, music, puppetry, and movement to take your youngest audience members on a journey through the vibrant and diverse neighborhoods of New York City.
