Make a Sailboat with Us!
What You’ll Need
- A Paper Plate
- A Popsicle Stick
- A Sheet of Construction Paper or Printer Paper
- Crayons
- Safety Scissors
- Double Edge Tape or Glue
This project requires cutting. If you do not have safety scissors, make sure a grownup is helping you cut!
What To Do
What To Do
- Cut your paper plate in half.
If you do not have safety scissors, make sure a grownup helps you! - Draw three triangles on your construction paper: a sideways small one for a flag, a medium sized one, and a large one.
- Cut out the triangles with your safety scissors.
If you do not have safety scissors, make sure a grownup helps you! - Color in your boat. We used black for the wood and red for the boat like the book, but you can use any colors you’d like!
- Using your double edge tape or glue, attach your popsicle stick to the back of your boat.
- Using your tape or glue, attach your triangles to the popsicle stick to create the sail.
You may have to cut your triangles a little shorter to fit the boat, like we did! If you do, make sure a grownup is around to help!
And now you have your Sailboat!
