DIY Craft | Make a Bookworm with Us!

Who's ready to go back to school? Whether you'll be in person, online, or both, you'll definitely be reading some really good books this year. Let's celebrate all of the great books you'll be reading by making our own bookworms!
Creative Clubhouse KIDS

What You’ll Need

  • Green Construction Paper
  • Red Construction Paper
  • Brown Construction Paper
  • Construction Paper in any other color(s) you’d like
  • A Pipe Cleaner
  • Crayons
  • Safety Scissors
  • Glue
  • Tape

This project requires cutting. If you do not have safety scissors, make sure a grownup is helping you cut!

What To Do

  1. Draw five (5) circles in varying sizes on your green paper.
  2. Cut out all five circles.
If you do not have safety scissors, make sure a grownup helps you!
  3. Draw the book cover and what you want to place on it.
We picked an apple – so we made a circle, a leaf, and a stem
  4. Cut out your book pieces.
If you do not have safety scissors, make sure a grownup helps you!
  5. Glue the item you created to the cover of your book!
  6. Glue your green circles together to create your worm’s body!
  7. Draw your worm’s eyes, smile, and glasses on its head.
  8. Glue your book to your bookworm!
  9. Cut your pipe cleaner in half and curl them.
If you do not have safety scissors, make sure a grownup helps you!
  10. Tape them to the back of your bookworm’s head.

And now you have your Bookworm!
