Sofie Wasserman-Smith

Sofie Wasserman-Smith (she/her) is a lifelong theatre artist and experienced administrator, bringing over a decade of expertise in development and grant-writing. After earning her BFA in Music Theatre (with English minor) from The Hartt School, she began her NYC theatre career at NYCCT as an Artistic Apprentice, contributing to the world premieres of Young Charles Dickens and Wringer. Since then, she has worked with Appel Farm Arts Center, Target Margin Theater, and New Dramatists, among other youth- and education-based organizations. At ND, she served on the development team from 2018-2025, most recently as Director of Development. She is passionate about securing the much-needed funding to make great arts programming happen, and is thrilled to return to NYCCT this year to support their vital, life-changing work!
