Lynda DeFuria
Lynda DeFuria is a New Jersey born, Las Vegas raised lady currently living in New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Songwriting and Vocal Performance from Berklee College of Music. As a songwriter, Lynda has released two albums of her original piano-driven pop/rock music (“Alive” & “Ticking Clocks”) and was the recipient of BMI’s John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship for her song “Where You Stand.” As a singer and actress, Lynda has appeared on national TV’s “Showtime at the Apollo,” Lincoln Center, and most recently on the “Kinky Boots” National Tour. She is a Co-Founder of The Shrill Collective, a feminist philanthropic theatre company that promotes new works with its profits benefiting charities that support women, families, and the LGBTQ community. Aside from her work with NYCCT, Lynda takes great joy in her teaching artist work with Waterwell, 3 Til 6, and Singing with Molly; as well as her own private voice studio students.
